5 Ways to Run for Independence

The Run for Independence celebrates ability, so we want everyone to be able to take part.

1. Run!

Compete for honors and prizes in 6 age categories in three races: 10K, 5K, 1 mile. Register online at runinarace.com.

FREE T-shirts to first 200 preregistrants.

2. Join a running team!

Organize a group of 5 or more. You don’t all have to run in the same race.

NEW TEAM PRIZES! Largest group, most team spirit (costumes, colors, cheers/songs). Heads up: Prize-winning cheers/songs will be no more than 60 seconds long.

FREE TEAM T-shirts for teams registered by May 5. Sign up your team before May 5.

3. NEW! Promote your group FREE!

Promote your organization or business in a free 10×10 space at this family-friendly event. For-profit and nonprofit organizations are equally eligible. Bring your promotional display, items for sale, fun games, etc. To reserve your space, contact Carlene Hill Byron: cbyron@iaofmaine.org or 207-504-5822.

4. Become a sponsor!

Sponsors support this race and Independence Association. 2017 sponsorships are filled (see list below) so we’re already taking commitments for 2018. Each level offers its own privileges and promotions. For details, contact Carlene Hill Byron: cbyron@iaofmaine.org or 207-504-5822.

5.  Volunteer!

More than 200 volunteers make the Run for Independence happen. FREE event staff T-shirt for volunteers! Contact Deb Mitchell: dmitchell@iaofmaine.org or 207-504-5824
