Independence Association was founded in 1966 by five families who wanted better lives for their children. From a tiny Youth Development Center in a rundown part of Brunswick it has grown to support and provide services to more than 400 individuals living with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in nine Maine counties.
Your support makes it possible for the individuals we serve to remain connected to their families and to live as active members of their Maine communities of choice. Your support helps us promote inclusiveness while enriching our communities.
